The Chronicle

What happened here, and who it happened to

Server-persistent world history. The first guild to fell a world boss has the region named after it — permanently, for every player. Ruins that players rebuild stay rebuilt. Nobody curates this page and nobody can reset it.

Six sample entries, one for each kind of event the Chronicle records.

  1. World firstThe Binder's DeepNot yet recorded

    «Guild» felled Bindaren

The first guild to bring down a world boss is recorded here, once, and the entry never expires. World bosses are not instanced and they migrate, so the kill happens in front of whoever else is in the region at the time.

  2. Region namedThe Binder's DeepNot yet recorded

    A region takes «Guild»'s name

Felling a world boss first earns the naming of the region it fell in. The name is permanent, applies to every player on the server, and is the reason two Zizeeria servers stop looking alike after a few months.

  3. Ecosystem shiftThe AshreachesNot yet recorded

A predator population collapses in Askvidderna

The simulation ticks every fifteen minutes. When a population crosses a threshold — hunted past recovery, or grown past what the region can feed — the tick writes the shift here. Nobody triggers this entry; the model does.

  4. Ecosystem shiftThe AshreachesNot yet recorded

Something walks in from the north

Overfarm the wolves and the deer population explodes. The grazing land is stripped, and an apex predator migrates in to a region that suddenly has food in it. The chain from the first kill to the arrival is legible in these entries.

  5. ReconstructionReedhavenNot yet recorded

«Guild» finished rebuilding a ruin in Reedhaven

Structures that players rebuild stay rebuilt. The world does not reset behind them, which is the whole argument for building anything in it.

  6. MentorshipNot yet recorded

«Character» brought an apprentice to level 15

Veterans are paid in Chronicle points, cosmetics and recipes for teaching new players. Onboarding is a system with a reward attached rather than a problem solved by paying for traffic.

What gets written, and by what

Most of the Chronicle is not written by a person. That is the point of it.

World first

Written the moment a world boss falls for the first time.

Region named

Follows a world first. Permanent, and never reassigned.

Ecosystem shift

Written by the simulation tick, not by a player action.

Reconstruction

Written when players finish rebuilding a structure.

Monument

Written when a statue or marker is raised and stays raised.

Mentorship

Written when an apprentice reaches a milestone under a mentor.

Why this page exists

Most online worlds reset behind you. A boss respawns, a ruin re-ruins, and the thing you did last week has no trace in the world this week. Zizeeria keeps the trace, and puts it somewhere anyone can read without owning the game.

Entries record names as they were at the time. A guild that renames itself does not get to rewrite what it did, and a guild that disbands does not get erased from the region it named. That is a deliberate constraint in the database, not an oversight.
